Job Type: Certified — Position — Teacher Elementary/Primary School Responsibilities Teach first grade students and create a flexible first grade program. Establish a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth. Build effective rapport with students to motivate them to develop necessary skills, attitudes, and knowledge. Establish good relationships with parents/guardians and other staff members. Perform other duties as assigned. Salary Schedule Berkeley County Schools Teacher Pay Scale based upon degree level and verified years of experience. 200‑day employment term. Qualifications Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, demonstrating knowledge and ability to be a qualified and effective candidate. Bachelor's degree in elementary education. Held or obtaining WV teacher certification in elementary education. Effective classroom management skills. Ability to participate in extracurricular activities or after‑hours work‑related activities. Additional Information If a certified candidate is unavailable for this position, candidates eligible for a first‑class permit, alternative certification, Teacher‑in‑Residence, or a perm sub can be considered.
