Allstar Appliance Service is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Master Residential Appliance Repair Technician to join our team in a full-time capacity.

We are looking for more than someone who can replace parts. The successful candidate will be an accomplished diagnostic technician who can accurately identify appliance failures, determine the most effective repair strategy, complete professional repairs, and confidently communicate with customers throughout the service experience. This position is ideal for an experienced appliance professional who takes pride in technical excellence, quality workmanship, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Master Residential Appliance Repair Technician, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair a broad range of household appliances in customers' homes. You will be expected to independently evaluate appliance problems, identify root causes, recommend appropriate repair solutions, and complete repairs efficiently and correctly.

Because our technicians represent Allstar Appliance Service directly in our customers' homes, outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills are just as important as technical expertise. The successful candidate must be able to communicate professionally and respectfully with customers of many different personalities, expectations, and levels of technical understanding.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position, with the possibility of weekly overtime based on service demand.

COMPENSATION

Compensation Range: $27–$32 per hour

Pay Frequency: Biweekly

Additional compensation opportunities include:

• Overtime pay
• Performance bonuses

Final compensation will be based on the successful applicant's experience, technical capabilities, certifications, diagnostic proficiency, and other relevant qualifications.

WORK SCHEDULE

Employment Status: Full-Time

Typical Weekly Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week

Typical Workdays: Monday–Friday

Typical Work Hours: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Weekend Requirements: Occasional Saturday hours available

On-Call Requirements: None

Overtime: Possible weekly overtime depending on workload and service demand.

Candidates must be comfortable working independently throughout the workday and managing multiple customer appointments efficiently.

Service Area

Technicians will provide residential appliance service throughout:

Primary Service Territory: Santa Fe, New Mexico, and surrounding areas

Typical Daily Travel Radius: Approximately 20 miles

The position requires regular travel between customer residences throughout the assigned service territory.

COMPANY VEHICLE & TRANSPORTATION

Allstar Appliance Service provides a company service vehicle for field work.

The company provides:

• Service vehicle for use during the workday
• Vehicle fuel
• Vehicle maintenance
• Vehicle insurance
• GPS software

The service vehicle remains at the company when not being used for field work.

A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.

TOOLS, EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY

Allstar Appliance Service provides the tools and equipment necessary to perform the position.

Technicians will be expected to properly use and maintain equipment including:

• Standard hand and power tools for appliance service
• Electrical diagnostic equipment, including multimeters
• Specialty appliance diagnostic tools
• Refrigeration service equipment, when applicable
• Company-provided operations software

Training on the company's operations software will be provided.

All technicians are expected to properly maintain company tools and equipment and use them in accordance with applicable safety practices.

APPLIANCES SERVICED

Candidates should possess extensive diagnostic and repair experience across a wide variety of residential appliances, including:

• Refrigerators and freezers
• Ranges, stoves, cooktops, and ovens
• Dishwashers
• Washing machines
• Clothes dryers
• Microwaves
• Garbage disposals
• Residential ice makers
• Trash compactors
• Other common residential household appliances

Experience servicing multiple major appliance brands and both traditional and modern electronically controlled appliances is strongly preferred.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Appliance Diagnostics & Repair

• Perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations of residential appliances.
• Accurately identify mechanical, electrical, electronic, and component-level failures.
• Distinguish the root cause of a failure from secondary symptoms rather than relying on unnecessary parts replacement.
• Develop and recommend appropriate repair strategies based on diagnostic findings.
• Explain repair recommendations and available options clearly to customers.
• Complete appliance repairs according to professional standards, manufacturer specifications, and accepted industry practices.
• Test appliances following repairs to verify proper and safe operation.
• Identify situations in which additional parts, specialized repairs, or replacement of the appliance may be appropriate.
• Work independently and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
• Maintain accurate service documentation regarding diagnostic findings, repairs performed, parts required, and job completion.
• Protect customers' homes and property while performing service work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area before, during, and after each service call.

Customer Service & Communication

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

We are seeking an experienced technician capable of operating at a master technician level . Qualified candidates should demonstrate:

• Extensive professional experience diagnosing and repairing residential appliances.
• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical appliance systems.
• Ability to diagnose modern electronically controlled appliances.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, technical documentation, and manufacturer service information.
• Experience using appropriate diagnostic instruments and service tools, including electrical test equipment.
• Ability to independently determine appropriate repair procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to complete repairs correctly, efficiently, and safely.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference may be given to applicants with:

• Significant field experience as a residential appliance repair technician.
• Experience servicing a broad range of major appliance manufacturers.
• Factory, manufacturer, trade-school, or industry technical training.
• Relevant appliance service certifications.
• EPA Section 608 certification and/or experience servicing sealed refrigeration systems.
• Advanced electrical and electronic diagnostic experience.
• Experience with premium, high-end, or specialty residential appliances.
• Previous experience working directly with residential customers in an in-home service environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Residential appliance repair is a physically active profession. Applicants must be able to safely perform normal duties associated with appliance service work, which may include:

• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
• Working in kitchens, laundry rooms, utility areas, and other residential environments
• Moving or positioning appliances when necessary for diagnosis and repair
• Handling tools, equipment, and replacement components
• Lifting and carrying items of reasonable weight associated with appliance repair
• Working in confined or limited-access areas when necessary

A Master Technician must be able to navigate these situations calmly and professionally while maintaining control of the service call and providing an excellent customer experience.
