The major duties of a Physician - Inpatient Psychiatrist include but are not limited to:

• Comprehensive evaluation and treatment (pharmacological & psychological) for psychiatric outpatients and inpatients as needed.
• Conduct consultative evaluations and basic medical assessments for psychiatric patients.
• Provide care for a diverse range of mental health conditions: mood, psychotic, anxiety, PTSD, cognitive, and more.
• Prescribe medications—including controlled substances—and ensure clear documentation and patient education.
• Perform history & physical exams, as well as psychological counseling, crisis intervention, and group therapy.
• Educate and counsel patients and their families on preventive care, treatment plans, and the use of prescribed medications.
• Develop, complete, and update treatment plans, suicide risk assessments, safety plans, and ensure compliance with mental health quality metrics.
