Position may be based at any location throughout FPL's service territory in the state of Florida.Job OverviewLine Specialist will be expected to safely perform all associated tasks with the construction and maintenance of all overhead and underground facilities (excluding vaults, manholes, and hot compounds). They must be able to safely trouble shoot and repair all distribution circuits and equipment. Be able to prepare all associated paperwork.Line Specialist may work alone or be assigned to work with one (1) person in a lower classification ie: groundman, apprentice, or helper, without direct supervision of a foreman (line, working or lead specialist). Be responsible for working all jobs in accordance with company design standards and work methods.May be required to work extended hours in inclement weather, may be required to travel throughout the system in cases of emergencies, storms, to restore the system.Required QualificationsMust have completed the FPL apprentice lineman program or another recognized programMust be proficient with live line maintenance, including the use of hot sticks and the FPL gloving proceduresMust possess climbing skillsMust be able to work in direct sunlight or at nightMust be physically able to do all assigned tasksMust have or be able to obtain a valid CDLPreferred QualificationsProficient with live line maintenance (gloving) up to twenty three (23) KV and the use of hot sticks for all voltagesBucket Truck Rescue CertificationPole Top Rescue CertificationTower Rescue CertificationNextEra Energy offers a wide range of benefits to support our employees and their eligible family members.
