As an Interior Plant Specialist, you will be responsibile for performing regular maintenance on interior tropical plants in offices and office lobbies throughout the Los Angeles   area. Most days are spent driving to service locations, accessing plants, providing necessary care, and reporting any issues back to the services management team. These route days are usually performed solo and are managed by an app on a phone to be provided to you. There are also designated "open days", which involve team members working together to perform new installations, detailing, and other special projects.

Days start and end early - a typical shift is 6:00AM - 2:30PM with flexibility as allowed by accebt to clients on your route. Plant Affair is only in operation Monday through Friday. Overtime is occasionally available, but never required.

You will be trained on the job during a temporary probationary period 2-3 months. During that probationary period, your status will be part-time. Health insurance coverage and full-time status begin after this period concludes.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Driving assigned routes to evaluate and care for interior plants and living walls in commercial settings throughout the Los Angeles area. This includes watering, pruning, cleaning, dusting, adding fertilizer, pest management, installing and replacing interior plants.
• Working as part of an installation crew to set up and prepare plants and containers.
• Occasional cleaning and organizing at the warehouse.
• Logging work activity on smart phone, including photographing issues and problem plants

Job Requirements:

• An eye for beauty, attention to detail, and appreciation of the benefits of plants.
• Excellent customer service skills. Must be courteous and respectful of clientele and coworkers.
• Have a valid driver's license, good driving record, car insurance, and a reliable vehicle. Routes will usually be driven in your personal vehicle. You will be reimbursed for mileage and parking.
• Familiarity with email, Google Maps.
• Ability to learn smart phone job tracking system.
• Ability and willingness to learn plant names, proper plant care techniques, disease identification and treatments. You will be trained on the job.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk while carrying at least 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to repeatedly stoop, bend, kneel, squat, do above head work
• Ability to hold, carry and lift watering cans without spilling

Bonus Points:

• Knowledge of indoor plants a plus – but not necessary
• A professional outgoing personality a must
