Statement of General Purpose

The Case Aide supports the achievement of objectives established in the Single Case Plan. The Case Aide will conduct and participate in home, school, and community visits, and assist in accessing resources and records. This position will require direct client interaction and execution of transports, assessments and supportive interventions in order to support delivery of child welfare services. In addition, the Case Aide will assist in maintaining documents and other administrative functions related to client records.

Examples of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provides transport of the family to visits, school, medical appointments, court, conferences and other essential appointments. This includes proper installation and use of car seats.
  • Obtains, maintains, and files documents/records.
  • Completes necessary purchases and deliveries for families, including groceries, food, and other urgent necessities.
  • Supervises visits when necessary with the knowledge of what appropriate supervision is available to intervene if children and youth are at risk.
  • Reports relevant details about interactions to supervisor and team.
  • Provides in-home and community support to families in order to increase their well-being and functioning.
  • Provides advisement on the organization and maintenance of the home, various life-skills, and availability of community resources.
  • Participates in Family Team Conferences and internal meetings when necessary.
  • Completes all paperwork and other documentation in a timely manner in accordance with the OHS CUA Practice Guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Office, Excel) and ability to work with various digital information systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, coworkers and visitors.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of children, youth, and families and to cover emergencies.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating good judgment and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and
  • Two (2) years or more experience working in environment involving children, youth and families with knowledge of child, youth and family service systems and community resources is preferred. Work experience in social service, education, health care or related field is a plus and case management
  • Driver’s license with clean driving record.

ADA Component

  • This role requires regular hearing, talking, walking, and sitting; occasional standing, driving, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
