Registered Nurse (RN)

A Registered Nurse is needed for night shifts in a critical access hospital setting. The nurse will be required to float between the Emergency Room (ER) and Med Surg units, handling various patient cases as they arise. It is important for applicants to understand the dynamic nature of this role, as some shifts may involve a heavier Med Surg focus than ER responsibilities.

Shift: 6 PM to 6 AM

Nights: Full-time position

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be expected to:

• Provide patient care in both the ER and Med Surg units.
• Manage patient loads typically around a 1:3 ratio, with a maximum ratio of 5:1.
• Collaborate with LPNs, CNAs, and staff secretaries to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Current Kansas state or multistate nursing license is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications are required, all from the American Heart Association.
• Preferred previous travel nursing experience, but first-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Consideration for candidates with less than three years of nursing experience.

Additional Information

There are no restrictions on mileage for this position, and while Covid vaccine exemptions are accepted, flu vaccination is not required. Scrub colors are not specified, allowing for flexibility in uniform choice.

Cancellation Policies

• Shift Cancellation: The facility may cancel one shift every 30 days during a 13-week assignment without affecting guaranteed hours for that week.
• Call Off Clause: If a shift is canceled after the healthcare provider has started working, the facility will compensate for the number of hours worked or a minimum of 2 hours, whichever is greater.
