About the Position

The shift will be for 3x12 hours overnight. Patient ratios are typically 1:5. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in a teaching hospital setting. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required as needed by the unit. Weekend requirements consist of 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period. Skills required include cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience in post-cardiac care and management, including angiograms, cardiac caths, and surgeries is necessary. Knowledge of IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, and management of hemodialysis is also essential. The role requires proficiency in medication management, including heparin protocols, PCA, and procedural sedation administration. Candidates should have experience with various respiratory care, including chest tubes and non-invasive airway management. Isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac experience are important skill areas. Regular floating among departments, units, and facilities may be required based on patient care needs. No local candidates will be accepted within a 75-mile radius. Compliance with specific training modules is expected before the start of the position.
