About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years experience required License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge and teaching hospital experience preferred Description: Registered Nurse for Progressive Care Unit with a patient ratio of 1:5. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience. Previous charge and teaching hospital experience is preferred. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required as needed. Weekend requirement includes 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling period, combining Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Skills required include managing cardiac telemetry and emergency response. Candidates should have experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. Knowledge of post-cardiac procedures and IV insulin protocols is essential. Experience in gastrointestinal management, feeding tube care, and hemodialysis is expected. Candidates must be proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management. Medication management skills including heparin protocols and titration of cardiac drips are required. Experience in respiratory care including chest tubes and non-invasive airway management is necessary. Professional skills include wound care and adherence to isolation precautions. Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed. Candidates must be able to complete compliance modules prior to start.
