Clinical Pharmacist

Performs the basic pharmacist procedures required by the assigned area, consistent with scientific principles and Orlando Health policies and procedures. Essential functions include demonstrating an understanding of safety, emergency and risk management procedures, hospital mission, personnel policies, philosophy, and the goals and objectives of Pharmacy and Orlando Health. Familiarity with the general duties of the Pharmacy department is also required. The role involves operating equipment, dispensing medications and intravenous fluids, documenting on appropriate forms, understanding various computer systems, and developing competency in all aspects of health-system pharmacy practice. The pharmacist must also plan, organize, execute, and monitor pharmaceutical care plans, perform pharmacotherapy and pharmacokinetics consultations, evaluate and address alerts, report and investigate adverse drug reactions and medication errors, participate in multidisciplinary rounds, and maintain regular attendance and compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other related functions include establishing and maintaining an open communication process, demonstrating knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, and performing other duties as assigned. Education/training includes a pharmacy degree and licensure by the Florida Board of Pharmacy, with hospital experience preferred.
