About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 3 years required License: Valid RN license (AZ/Compact) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate/Advanced, FHM, NRP Must-Have: First-time travelers accepted, depending on experience Preferred previous charge experience Description: Orientation is held twice a month. Position available for RN in Labor & Delivery Recovery Postpartum. Floating may be required if there is a need in the facility. Weekend requirement is 4 days per 4 weeks. Charting experience in EPIC is required. No local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) will be considered. 7 days or less of requested time off is preferred. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, and adults. Daily census ranges from 0 to 12. The unit has 6 beds with additional postpartum capabilities when needed. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services and social services. Special procedures performed in the unit may include high-risk deliveries and C-sections. The average patient ratio depends on the status of labor and postpartum care. Nurses are trained in various skills including neonatal resuscitation and maternal care. Candidates should be familiar with protocols for managing complications during labor. Must possess the ability to support breastfeeding and provide discharge education to parents. Recognizing abnormal fetal heart rate patterns is critical.
