About the Position

RN – Skilled Nursing / Sub-Acute Care – Day Shift – Relocation Candidates Welcome

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Skilled Nursing units at a hospital-based Sub-Acute Care Center in Janesville, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will provide individualized, high-quality nursing care, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and safety.

Candidates must have a current Wisconsin RN license, CPR certification, and verified education credentials. Travelers may be required to float to other inpatient units based on patient census and facility needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate individualized patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, facility policies, standards of care, and applicable Wisconsin laws and nursing practice regulations.
• Develop, initiate, and implement patient care plans based on individual needs, physician orders, and hospital policies.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and ongoing care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to established standards of care.
• Participate in department and unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance initiatives when applicable.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments to support continuity of patient care.
• Apply critical-thinking skills to promote patient safety and a positive patient experience.
• Recognize changes in patient conditions and escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
• Float to other inpatient units as needed based on patient census and facility requirements.
• Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations.

• Current, active Wisconsin RN license required.
• Verified nursing education credentials required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or sub-acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and patient safety skills.
• Ability to administer medications and treatments in accordance with facility policies and applicable nursing standards.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Flexibility to float to other inpatient units based on census.
• Availability to work the assigned day shift, every third weekend, and a holiday rotation.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Shift: Day shift, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM.
• FTE: 0.9 FTE.
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks.
• Start Date: September 14, 2026.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week.
• Positions Available: 3.
• Position Urgency: Quick Start.
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend.
• Holiday Coverage: Required; holiday rotation.
• EMR: EPIC.
• Floating: May be required to float to other inpatient units based on census.
• Overtime: Calculated weekly after 40 hours, at the all-inclusive pay rate + $7.
• Holiday Rate: All-inclusive pay rate + $7.
• On-Call: No call.
