Together, those functions deliver the technology behind every product story Apple tells and every purchase a customer makes.DescriptionAs a Sr Site Reliability Engineer, you will be a technical leader driving reliability, availability, and scalability across infrastructure, storage, and cloud platforms that power interactive marketing experiences around the globe. You will independently own critical systems end-to-end, set technical direction for reliability practices across the team, and raise the bar for engineering rigor.Minimum Qualifications5 years of hands-on experience as a systems, storage, or cloud engineer, including technical ownership of production systems at scaleKnowledge of Linux (OEL, RHEL, CentOS) utilities and internalsExpertise in version control (Git) and automated build/test systems (Jenkins, Vagrant)Expertise in Kubernetes platform experience, on-premise or cloudExperience with at least one major cloud infrastructure platform, including architecture-level decisionsHands on experience with storage platforms (NetApp, Isilon, object storage) at scaleHands on experience in configuration management (Puppet, Ansible)Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade x86-based hardware platformsAutomation skills in Python or GoKnowledge of basic networking, internet, and web technologies including IPv4/IPv6, DNS, HTML, CSS, JS etc. and hands on experience debugging web applications at the network/protocol levelPreferred QualificationsExperience building or scaling an internal platform/tooling adopted broadly across infrastructure teamsBackground supporting high-traffic, consumer-facing web platformsExperience mentoring or leading a small team of SREs, even without formal management authority, influencing technical direction across teamsProven ability to independently drive a reliability initiative from design through production and long-term ownershipExcellent verbal and written communication skills — able to articulate, document and otherwise communicate technical concepts/details to both technical and non-technical audiencesPractical experience with GitOps infrastructure automationDeep experience with multi-platform cloud and on-premise applications at scale, particularly with AWS and/or AlicloudExperience migrating bare metal/virtualized applications and infrastructure to containerized cloud deploymentsExperience building web applications and services at scale in GoExperience with large-scale systems — performance tuning, replication, failover — as part of an SRE roleExperience with security hardening of production infrastructure at scaleEEO StatementApple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
