The team owns the technology behind both Apple's online and physical stores and drives the interactive marketing experiences and tools that keep creative operations moving. Together, those functions deliver the technology behind every product story Apple tells and every purchase a customer makes.DescriptionAs a Site Reliability Engineer your primary responsibilities include ensuring system reliability and availability. This involves monitoring performance, participating in on-call rotations, and helping to design highly available systems. You also automate and manage infrastructure, implementing Infrastructure as Code. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, documenting systems, and planning for capacity and scalability are crucial.Minimum Qualifications3 years hands-on experience as a systems, storage or cloud engineerKnowledge of Linux (OEL, RHEL, CentOS) utilities and programsExpertise in version control systems (Git, SVN), automated build and testing (Jenkins, Vagrant)Expertise in Kubernetes platform, on-premise or CloudExpertise with at least one cloud infrastructure platform (AWS, GCP)Understanding of enterprise storage platforms (NetApp, Isilon, Object Storage, etc.)Experience with configuration management (e.g. Puppet, Ansible)Understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM)Experience automating workflows with Python or GoKnowledge of networking technologies including IPv4/IPv6, DNS, network segmentation, etc.Preferred Qualifications5+ years of hands-on experience in an SRE role including technical ownership of production systems at scaleBackground supporting high-traffic, consumer-facing web platformsExcellent verbal and written communication skills — able to articulate, document and otherwise communicate technical concepts/details to both technical and non-technical audiencesWorking knowledge of basic web technologies including HTML, CSS, JS etc. and hands on experience debugging web applications at the network/protocol levelExperience with GitOps infrastructure automationExperience with multi-platform cloud and on-premise applications at scale, particularly with AWS and/or AlicloudExperience building web applications and services at scale in GoExperience performance-tuning web applications, especially across all contributing factorsEEO StatementApple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
