Job DescriptionAs a Manufacturing Engineer II in the Defense and Aerospace industry, your primary responsibility will be to develop and improve manufacturing processes and systems to ensure the efficient and cost-effective production of defense and aerospace products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, in person and digitally, including design engineers, production personnel, and quality assurance, to optimize manufacturing operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, reliable, and technologically advanced products for defense and aerospace applications. We bridge commercial innovation with defense-grade security to ensure our warfighters and allies have the technological advantage.Job Responsibilities:Design and develop manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions to meet product specifications and quality standardsIdentify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safetyCollaborate with design engineers to ensure producibility and manufacturability of new productsSupport factory and production operations by diagnosing, repairing, and/or engineering solutions to product errors or defects.Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to optimize production flow and reduce cycle timesEvaluate manufacturing equipment and technologies, recommend suitable options, and oversee their integration into production linesEnsure equipment meets industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirementsLead and participate in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiativesIdentify areas for improvement, implement process enhancements, and drive cost reduction, waste elimination, and quality improvement effortsResolve production-related quality issues and implement preventive measures to ensure compliance with industry and customer specificationsRequired Qualifications:Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Typically requires 2+ years manufacturing engineering roles, preferably in the defense or aerospace industryExperience with manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies, including CNC machining, additive manufacturing, assembly, and testingExperience with industry standards and regulations, such as AS9100, ITAR, and NADCAPExperience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologiesExperience leading a small teams through process-improvement initiatives and the engineering, diagnosis and repair of assigned products. “This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance.
