About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Legal Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal support to various business units, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, structured notes, and other structured cash and derivatives products. This role involves handling a wide range of transactional and regulatory matters, as well as general legal issues. The VP, Legal Counsel will be expected to analyze and advise on M&A-related materials, deal-contingent hedges, and a variety of credit agreements. Additionally, the role includes managing outside counsel and providing dedicated coverage to existing structured note programs. Applicants for the VP, Legal Counsel position at the company should have a JD from a top US law school, be admitted to the NY State Bar, and have a minimum of 3 years' of experience at a top AmLaw 100 firm, with a background in banking and finance, structured finance, project finance, and/or securities regulatory matters. The role requires a team player with a willingness to learn about new areas and different financial products. The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials, be a proactive and dedicated professional, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
