Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: North Charleston, SC

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care in a 28-bed mixed ICU environment, handling patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3. RNs will care for patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced interventions including ventilator management and various hemodynamic support methods.

Responsibilities:

• Administer care to ICU patients, including those on ventilators and managing advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Conduct bedside shift reports and ensure thorough patient hand-offs during transitions of care.
• Perform necessary procedures such as CRRT, phlebotomy, and assist in post-operative care for CVICU patients.
• Utilize i-mobile phones and mobile computer workstations for documentation using the Meditech system.
• Float to the emergency department or PCU if required, as travelers are prioritized for floating assignments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 36 months of RN experience, with at least 12 months in an ICU setting.
• Comfortable managing 1-3 ICU patients and performing duties related to ventilator care.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred, with familiarity using Meditech.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale required.
• Advanced skills in CRRT and hemodynamic monitoring are preferred; experience with neuro procedures is a plus.
• BSN and advanced certifications such as TNCC are preferred.
