Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to dogs and cats, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the process, providing a safe and stress-free environment for pets and their owners. The ideal candidate will possess a love for animals, excellent customer service skills, and a strong understanding of grooming techniques. Providing a boutique-like personalized experience and interacting with the pet parent is an integral part of the service we provide.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, ear cleaning and nail trimming for various breeds of dogs and cats.
- Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area to ensure a safe environment for pets and staff.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and grooming options.
- Handle animals with care, safely, and humanely, using proper restraint techniques when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service by building rapport with pet owners and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Keep accurate records of services provided and any special instructions from pet owners.
- Stay updated on grooming techniques, tools, and trends.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of animal care practices and grooming techniques.
- Proficient in animal restraint methods to ensure the safety of both the groomer and the pet.
- Experience working in a kennel or veterinary setting is preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
- Knowledge of various grooming techniques, coat types, and breed-specific cuts.
- Familiarity with veterinary technician or veterinary assistant duties is beneficial.
- Ability to handle various breeds of dogs and cats, including different sizes, temperaments, and conditions.
