HRology Group, LLC is an HR outsourcing and consulting firm based in Brea, California. Led by owner and Managing Director Samuel (Sam) Kim, we serve as the outsourced HR department for our client companies, many of them US subsidiaries of Korean companies. Most of our clients are in California, and we also support companies in Nevada, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Arizona, and Washington. We are a small, close-knit team (Sam plus our consultants and specialists), and we use AI tools and modern HR technology, including BambooHR, Google Workspace, and Slack, to deliver responsive, high-quality service.

P osition Summary

We are looking for an HR Generalist who wants to grow their HR career in a fast-paced, multi-client environment . You will work directly with our HR Consultants on client engagements, handling the day-to-day HR administration, data, and compliance tasks that keep each client running smoothly. You will support onboarding and offboarding, BambooHR records, payroll and benefits preparation, and compliance tracking, often for several clients on the same day.

This role sits below the HR Consultant level. You will take on routine work on your own and escalate complex matters, such as employee relations issues, to the assigned HR Consultant. It is a strong opportunity to learn full-cycle HR across many companies and states. Bilingual fluency in English and Korean is a strong plus , since many of our clients are US subsidiaries of Korean companies.

Key Responsibilities

Consultant Support & Multi-Client Coordination

• Work directly with HRology's HR Consultants on assigned client engagements, taking on administrative and project tasks so consultants can focus on advisory work.
• Keep track of tasks, deadlines, and follow-ups across multiple clients at once, and keep the assigned consultant updated on status.
• Answer routine employee questions (for example, about pay dates, PTO balances, benefits enrollment, and forms) and escalate complex or sensitive matters to the HR Consultant.
• Coordinate scheduling for client meetings, trainings (such as California harassment prevention training), and HR events.
• Keep strict confidentiality of employee and client information across all client companies.

HR Administration & Employee Lifecycle

• Support client onboarding and offboarding, including new hire paperwork, welcome packets, and exit checklists.
• Enter and maintain employee data, records, and HR workflows in BambooHR, and keep information accurate and up to date.
• Complete Form I-9 verification and E-Verify cases (where applicable), and track reverification deadlines.
• Conduct employee file audits to make sure personnel, payroll, and medical files are complete and stored correctly.
• Draft offer letters, employment verification letters, policies, and HR templates for HR Consultant review.

Payroll & Benefits Support

• Prepare and check payroll data for client companies on BambooHR (new hires, terminations, pay changes, hours, and deductions) for HR Consultant review. This role supports payroll; it does not own payroll processing.
• Support benefits administration, including open enrollment, new hire enrollments, life event changes, and COBRA notices, in coordination with the HR Consultant, brokers, and carriers.
• Reconcile benefits and payroll data and flag discrepancies to the assigned consultant.

Compliance & HR Audit Support

• Track compliance deadlines and requirements for clients, including California labor law, CalSavers, required employee notices and postings, and exempt salary thresholds.
• Support multi-state compliance tracking for clients with employees in CA, NV, TX, NY, NJ, FL, AZ, and WA.
• Help complete HR audit checklists and gather documents for client HR audits and reviews.
• Help update HR policies and employee handbooks under the direction of the HR Consultant.

Visa & J-1 Intern Support

• Help HR Consultants with paperwork, tracking, and coordination for client visa matters and J-1 intern programs.

Qualifications

Required

• 1–3 years of experience in HR, HR administration, or a PEO or HR consulting environment.
• Basic knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance.
• Experience with BambooHR or another HRIS, including data entry and record keeping.
• Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines at the same time.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred

• Bilingual fluency in English and Korean, written and spoken.
• HR certificate, aPHR, or SHRM-CP certification.
• Experience with payroll data entry or benefits administration (open enrollment, COBRA).
• Experience with Form I-9 and E-Verify.
• Experience working with US subsidiaries of Korean companies.
• Exposure to multi-state HR compliance outside California.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work at a computer for long periods and use standard office equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly by phone, video call, email, and in person.
• Occasional local travel to client sites may be required.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally (for example, files and office supplies).
