ASPN I-ED Nurse Residency Program The Highland Hospital Emergency Department Nurse Residency Program provides newly licensed Registered Nurses with the knowledge and skills needed to transition from novice to competent advanced beginner in the clinical setting. Orientation will begin in March 2026. Responsibilities Provide professional nursing services for patients, families, and the nursing department. Collaborate with healthcare providers and team members to achieve expected patient outcomes and improve the care environment. Use the nursing process and evidence‑based practice to coordinate and provide direct care and support services. Work under the direction of the Nurse Manager and support peers in delivering patient care, prioritizing safety, collaboration, and communication. Participate in unit activities that enhance patient care outcomes. Level I Registered Nurse (RN) Overview New Associate Degree (AD) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). 6 months or less of clinical experience post licensure. Accountable for providing direct care to assigned patients using the nursing process. Supported by the Nurse Manager to complete a six‑month evaluation; upon meeting expectations, advanced to Level II RN. Qualifications Newly licensed RN with 0–6 months experience. BS in Nursing preferred. Licensed by New York State as a Registered Nurse. Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare providers preferred). Compensation Pay Range: $38.00 – $41.00 per hour. Employment Details Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Days/Evenings/Nights shift location: Rochester.
