Company Description DASH (Alexandria Transit Company) is a fare‑free public transit system providing safe, reliable, and convenient bus services throughout the City of Alexandria, Virginia. It offers eco‑friendly, accessible transportation that helps reduce traffic congestion and enhances the quality of life for residents, commuters, and visitors. In addition to its local routes, DASH plays a critical role in the broader transportation network by partnering with regional transportation agencies, including Metrobus, Metrorail, Virginia Railway Express (VRE), and other bus systems to connect Alexandria to the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for developing, organizing, coordinating, and managing all financial functions for Alexandria Transit Company (ATC) and the employer subsidiary corporation, Transit Management of Alexandria (TMA). This position provides leadership, daily direction, and effective management of finance and accounting functions, including budgeting, grants and capital projects, accounting, payroll, financial reporting, procurement, and contract administration. The CFO is a key member of the Company’s Executive Leadership Team, playing a critical role in strategic decision‑making to achieve the Company’s long‑term and short‑term goals. Under the direction of the GM/CEO, the CFO develops financial policies, procedures, and programs to ensure the Company operates according to legal and regulatory requirements. The CFO supervises the Finance team of five. Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major coursework in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, or a related field. Minimum of eight (8) years in financial administration with progressive growth in responsibility. Minimum of five (5) years experience in local government, transit finance, or any governmental/public related field with experience in budgeting, accounting, leadership, and managing grants and capital projects. Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred. The company will reimburse costs for the continuation of accreditation once hired. Experience with public sector procurement is strongly preferred but not required. Experience in a union environment, is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
