This executive leader develops and implements operational strategies, manages production and support functions, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures alignment between operational performance and overall business objectives.What does the Vice President of Operations do at SpecSys?Oversee daily operations across manufacturing, production, quality, and facilities functions.Lead projects, including overseeing planning, execution, resources, and timelines to achieve business objectives.Ensure operational processes are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with company standards.Develop and execute operational strategies that support company goals and long-term growth.Collaborate with executive leadership to establish organizational objectives and performance targets.Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability.Lead organizational change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.Lead new product introductions coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring successful, on-time launches.Develop and manage departmental budgets and capital expenditures.Analyze operational costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.Ensure resources are allocated effectively to meet business objectives.Support annual planning and forecasting activities.Provide leadership, coaching, and development to facility managers.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.Assist in succession planning and talent development initiatives.Support employee engagement and retention efforts.Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and best practices to improve operational performance.Work closely with customers to ensure expectations are met and exceeded.Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the organization.What are we looking for in a great Vice President of Operations?Knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) softwareOrganizational development and leadershipFast-paced project managementComputer skills using PC – word processing, spreadsheets, Excel knowledge requiredBudgeting and financial analysisLean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologiesHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Undergraduate degree, preferred in operations or engineeringMaster's in business or operations, or other advanced degree preferred, unless 10+ years operations experience10+ years of management experience in project management environmentOR any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be acceptable.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this position.
