The Boss This role reports directly to senior leadership who is currently overseeing multiple locations. Leadership is hands‑on during onboarding and values frequent communication but is not a micromanager. Trust, autonomy, and responsibility increase as the relationship develops. The Position The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all service and project‑related operations in the Raleigh location once work is sold. This includes leadership of technicians, coordination with dispatch, operational execution of projects and service work, and ensuring systems and processes are followed. The Service Manager serves as the technical backstop , daily leader, and accountability driver for the field team while ensuring customer expectations are exceeded. Essential Functions (Other duties may be assigned) Lead and manage day‑to‑day service and project operations for the Raleigh branch Provide direct leadership to technicians and dispatch, including daily communication and support Act as the technical resource and escalation point for the service team Ensure quotes, repairs, and service documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner Drive accountability to established systems, processes, and service standards Oversee scheduling, workflow efficiency, and coordination of service and project work Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of technicians Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure proactive communication Monitor operational performance metrics and contribute to forecasting and reporting Collaborate with sales leadership to ensure smooth handoff from sold work to execution Qualifications Proven experience in a Service Manager or similar operational leadership role Strong technical background in commercial HVAC service Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and hold teams accountable Experience managing both service work and project‑heavy environments Ability to balance hands‑on leadership with process discipline Strong communication skills with technicians, customers, and leadership Education and Experience Several years of progressive experience in commercial HVAC service Prior leadership experience managing technicians or field teams Experience with applied systems, including rooftop units and split systems Chiller and boiler experience is required Competencies Leadership and team development Accountability and follow‑through Operational discipline and organization Customer‑focused mindset Technical problem‑solving Clear and proactive communication Ability to inspire continuous improvement Work Environment This role is primarily based in the Raleigh branch with regular interaction in the field.
