Assistant Boys Soccer Coach - Fall 2026 Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School - Marlborough, Massachusetts Job ID: 5806461 Position Type: Part-time Job Description We are looking for an Assistant Boys Soccer Coach for the Fall 2026 season. General Duties Coaches are requested to give members of their squads maximum opportunity to develop their potential and coach students in fundamental skills for competitive play. Create and maintain a wholesome learning atmosphere with neat appearance, good sportsmanship, and respect for coaches, officials, teammates, and opponents. Set a good example for players and spectators when dealing with officials and opposing teams. Strive for improvement and growth by attending clinics, conferences, and courses pertaining to the sport and athletic department matters. Establish and maintain a good rapport with the administration, coaching staff, faculty members, parents, other schools, officials, police, physicians, and the press. Attend meetings by the Athletic Director. Abide by all rules established by the Massachusetts Secondary Principals Association, the Interscholastic Athletic Policy, and applicable league rules. Be familiar with their duties as outlined in the job description. Work under the direct supervision of the head coach, who organizes and implements an overall program. Provide dismissal lists when necessary to the Athletic Director. Pre-Season Duties Meet with the head coach to help establish, organize, and plan the program. Assist the Maintenance Department, Athletic Director, and Head Coach in any preparation needed for playing facilities. Season Duties Communicate with coaches and the AD about scheduling or practice issues. Check each player’s academic status weekly; sanctions follow Assabet Athletic Department standards. Practice within assigned time slots and respect other teams using the facility. Ensure all facilities are set up before the game and properly cleaned afterward, including locking doors and gates. Be responsible for all equipment needed at practice and ensure it is put away afterward. Ensure all student-athletes are present before and after away games and that everyone returns to school. Create a game-day roster for dismissal times and notify the AD of changes. Post-Season Duties Set up a time with the team and AD to collect all uniforms and create an inventory list. Submit a final season report, answering the questions sent by the AD thoroughly. Injuries Medical kits must be present at all practices and games, secured by the Athletic Trainer. Give temporary aid to a student-athlete if a minor injury occurs. If a student-athlete’s injury is severe or causes loss of consciousness, call 911, the Athletic Trainer, and the Athletic Director immediately. If the injury is extremely severe, accompany the student-athlete to the hospital and ensure another adult watches the remaining athletes. All coaches must file an Assabet Injury Report Form after the incident. Job Requirements CPR certification. At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
