Job Title: Flexo Press Operator – 2nd Shift
Location: Plano, Texas
Schedule: 2nd Shift | [Confirm exact hours and days]

A growing label and packaging manufacturer in the Plano, TX area is looking for an experienced Flexo Press Operator to join its 2nd shift production team.

This is a hands-on press position responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and adjusting flexographic printing equipment used to produce pressure-sensitive labels and related printed products. We’re looking for someone who understands flexo printing fundamentals, takes pride in print quality, and can troubleshoot issues involving color, registration, impression, ink, and overall press performance.

• Set up and operate flexographic printing presses to produce labels and related printed products.

• Review job tickets, specifications, artwork requirements, and production instructions before starting jobs.

• Install print cylinders, plates, dies, tooling, and other components required for each job.

• Load and properly align label stock and other substrates.

• Set up ink systems, including ink pans, screens, pumps, and prescribed inks.

• Set press speed, web alignment, impression, registration, and other operating parameters.

• Bring print cylinders into proper registration and run approval samples before full production.

• Inspect printed samples for print-to-print and print-to-die registration.

• Identify defects including missing impression, ink starvation, registration problems, color variation, and other print-quality issues.

• Make press adjustments as needed to maintain quality throughout the production run.

• Mix and adjust inks to achieve required colors and maintain proper viscosity.

• Monitor color, registration, impression, die cutting, and overall finished-product quality.

• Perform changeovers efficiently while minimizing downtime and material waste.

• Troubleshoot printing, mechanical, ink, substrate, and quality issues during production.

• Clean plates, print cylinders, dies, ink systems, and press components between jobs.

• Perform required daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance.

• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.

• Follow established safety procedures and production standards.

• Maintain a clean, organized press area and meet housekeeping expectations.

• At least 1 year of flexographic printing press experience preferred.

• Experience setting up, operating, and adjusting flexographic printing equipment.

• Understanding of flexographic printing fundamentals, including impression, registration, ink, color, and web handling.

• Ability to identify print defects and make appropriate press adjustments.

• Experience completing press setups and job changeovers.

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot production problems.

• Ability to read and understand job specifications and production instructions.

• Ability to accurately use rulers, scales, and other measurement devices.

• Basic math skills involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

• Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with production, quality, and other team members.

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.

• Ability to distinguish colors and visually inspect fine print and registration details.

• Previous narrow-web flexographic printing experience.

• Pressure-sensitive label manufacturing experience.

• Experience producing labels or packaging for food, beverage, personal care, pharmaceutical, medical, chemical, or consumer-product applications.

• Experience working in a quality-focused production environment.

• Strong ink-mixing and color-matching skills.

• Experience troubleshooting print registration and die-cutting issues.

• Experience working with tight tolerances and detailed customer specifications.
