Job Title: Flexographic Press Operator – Narrow Web Labels
Location: Addison, Texas

A well-established label printing operation in the Addison, Texas area is looking to hire 1–2 experienced Flexographic Press Operators for its first-shift production team.

This position is best suited for a true all-around narrow-web press operator who understands the complete flexographic printing process—not just running repeat jobs once a press has already been set up. You should be comfortable taking a job from setup through production, including mounting plates, working with inks and color, setting dies, making press adjustments, troubleshooting problems, maintaining print quality, and changing over between different types of work.

The company will also consider a less-experienced operator who has strong mechanical aptitude, a good eye for color, and the ability and willingness to learn the complete process.

• Set up and operate narrow-web flexographic presses for pressure-sensitive label and related work

• Handle jobs from setup through finished production

• Mount plates and prepare the press for production

• Mix, adjust, and manage inks to achieve required color

• Set dies and make necessary tooling adjustments

• Perform complete press setups and changeovers

• Adjust registration, impression, color, tension, and other press variables

• Read job specifications and set equipment accordingly

• Run a variety of jobs rather than only repetitive, standardized work

• Monitor color, registration, print quality, die-cutting, and overall finished-product quality throughout each run

• Troubleshoot mechanical, print-quality, ink, registration, and setup issues

• Make adjustments independently to keep jobs running efficiently

• Minimize waste and maintain production standards

• Perform routine operator-level press maintenance

• Follow plant safety procedures and good housekeeping practices

• Work with production and management to resolve quality or equipment issues

Years of experience are less important than depth of experience. Candidates who have spent their careers running only one repetitive type of job may not be the right fit. The company is looking for operators who understand what is happening throughout the press and can adjust when the job changes or a problem occurs.

• Experience in narrow-web pressure-sensitive label printing

• Experience with older, mechanically driven or gear-driven flexographic presses

• Background working in an environment where press operators are responsible for their own setups

• Experience producing a variety of label constructions and job types

• Strong color-matching and ink-adjustment skills

• Experience troubleshooting registration, impression, die-cutting, ink, and print-quality problems
