Quick Facts: Location: 9851 Brook Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059 Start Date: 09/06/2026 End Date: 09/20/2026 Shift: 12-hour shifts (8:00 AM 8:00 PM), based on patient flow Hours/Week: 36 hours (3 shifts/week) Employment Type: Locum potential to transition to permanent Licenses/Certifications: Virginia Medical License, DEA, BLS (additional certifications beneficial) Experience: Prior urgent care or ER experience preferred but not required Pay & Benefits: Hourly Pay Rate: $17.16/hour Benefits include: Competitive pay packages Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick leave in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, travel, and certification reimbursements when applicable What You ll Do: Provide urgent care services to a diverse outpatient patient population (birth to death) Perform procedures including suturing, I&D, foreign body removal, and burn management Manage minor orthopedic procedures such as splinting and casting Conduct point-of-care testing including rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, and urinalysis Interpret X-rays and EKGs to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning Stabilize airway and manage acute episodes using nebulizer treatments and emergency protocols Document findings accurately in Epic EMR system Coordinate care for episodic higher acuity cases to appropriate facilities What You Need: Valid Virginia Physician Assistant license and national certification At least 1-2 years of outpatient or urgent care experience preferred Excellent procedural skills and the ability to handle diverse patient cases Strong communication and teamwork skills About the Assignment: Join a well-respected urgent care team in Glen Allen, offering a dynamic environment with a high patient volume typical for seasonal peaks like cold and flu seasons.
