Responsibilities Primary duties include directing, interviewing, hiring, counseling, planning work schedules, and assigning work duties of housekeeping associates. Lead pre‑shift meetings to communicate arrivals, departures, identify VIPs, delegate room assignments and duties. Assist the Executive Housekeeper in interviewing and selecting new associates for hire. Monitor housekeeping staff productivity and efficiency, recommending promotions or status changes. Handle employee complaints and grievances, disciplining up to termination when necessary. Determine materials, supplies, and tools to use, stock, and sell. Supervise and inspect cleaning of guest rooms, turndown service, public areas, and back‑of‑house; ensure compliance with accident‑loss prevention programs, SOPs, and health/sanitation standards to achieve high cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Implement emergency training and procedures to protect guests, staff, and company assets. Issue assignments to staff, reviewing special requests and areas of concentration to ensure smooth flow. Issue supplies to staff at shift start, controlling inventory and expenses. Respond to guest requests and concerns to ensure satisfaction; log items into Lost and Found and answer inquiries. Education and Training One to two years of post‑high school education. Experience One to two years of employment in a related position with this company or another organization. Knowledge and Skills Self‑starting personality with an even disposition. Ability to meet appearance standards. Can communicate well with guests. Physical Demands Pushing vacuum entire length of hallway; carrying supplies from department to assigned floor; carrying dirty linen to laundry; removing room service trays and carrying dirty dishes to service area. Bending/kneeling when dusting; retrieving dirty dishes from floor; climbing stairs (approx. 40 steps, 15% of a 40‑hour week). Continuous standing, walking, and movement to reach all areas of responsibility. Ability to communicate with guests, housekeepers, main linen room attendant, and supervisor. Ability to assess required reaction to meet standards. Mobility to reach all areas, including shelves, windows, ledges, pipes, and furniture. Environment Prolonged strenuous physical activity in an indoor climate‑controlled environment. Excessive heat and humidity in laundry. Indoor temperature at 95% of shift time.
