Sprinkler Service Technician (union)

Responsibilities Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions. Contact customer representatives and ascertain equipment/systems problems. Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications, including wet (steel, copper, and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps. Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, and modification notices to diagnose and repair equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specification software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals. Exhibit effective customer service skills by consistently communicating with the district staff and customers to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Electronically complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding and obtain the customer’s signature. Participate in a scheduled on‑call rotation. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 5years of documented experience in the Fire Sprinkler/Suppression industry. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Capability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50‑70lbs, and working in difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, high‑lift equipment up to 40ft, and working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements. Ability to participate in an on‑call rotation schedule. Overnight travel will be required. Demonstrated high level of customer service. Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs. Adherence to, implementation of, and enforcement of safety guidelines and procedures. Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly. Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements. Must pass a pre‑employment background and drug test. Must possess and retain a current State Fire Protection License Journeyman License. Preferred NICET LevelII certification. Benefits Pay Range: $74.77 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. Position is a Bargaining Unit Position.
