The team is a highly skilled and geographically diverse portfolio of professionals. Talbot writes a diversified portfolio that includes crisis management, energy, financial lines, marine, political risk, property and terrorism. Syndicate 2019 offers AIG’s Private Client Select (PCS) portfolio. Talbot is headquartered in London with offices in New York and Singapore. Responsibilities Underwrite risks in accordance with Talbot’s philosophy and within personal authority limits. Assist in developing strategy and business plans. Ensure all underwriters follow the company’s appetite, authorities and processes. Manage the overall portfolio. Provide professional, prompt service to brokers and clients. Comply with personal underwriting authority terms. Review and update underwriting guidelines at least annually. Ensure business is conducted, processed and administered in line with policies, procedures and service levels. Ensure premium entries in Subscribe are reviewed and accurately maintained. Act in accordance with regulatory standards and principles at all times. Assist syndicate staff as needed. Continuously improve knowledge, skills and expertise. Qualifications Experience in the Lloyd’s market as an Underwriter is preferred. Detailed knowledge of products. Advanced Diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute or a degree (preferred). Ability to operate independently with little direction; a "self‑starter". Strong prioritisation skills. Strong team‑working approach. Excellent verbal, written and professional communication; negotiation skills. Strong interpersonal and documentation skills, able to summarise information. Ability to understand problems and issues quickly. Positive, can‑do attitude. Calm, rational and methodical approach. For positions based in NYC, NY the base salary range is $68,000‑$91,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.
