Overview

This position exists to bridge the gap between sales and execution by seamlessly guiding complex power generation projects from initial purchase through final customer acceptance. By ensuring total accuracy in technical specifications, equipment procurement, and logistics, this role directly drives customer satisfaction and plays a critical part in the continued operational and strategic growth of the organization's power systems business.

Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end delivery of industrial power solutions, including generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and paralleling switchgear. The primary focus of this role is to coordinate internal and external resources, procure equipment, and manage project logistics while providing superior customer support. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented leader with a strong sense of urgency who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment and can anticipate issues before they become problems.

Responsibilities

Manage full-lifecycle power generation projects from receipt of the purchase order through successful final customer acceptance.

Review new project scopes to verify the accuracy of the bill of materials (BOM), project cost estimates, and commercial Terms & Conditions.

Validate all technical quotes and engineering estimates to ensure they strictly align with complex specifications and customer requirements.

Collaborate directly with customers to secure submittal approvals, authorize manufacturing releases, and answer critical project questions to keep timelines on track.

Procure required project equipment by accurately issuing and managing purchase orders with external vendors.

Coordinate logistics and shipping services to guarantee equipment is delivered safely and in strict alignment with customer site requirements.

Process precise and timely invoicing for all delivered goods and project services.

Partner with sales representatives and management to proactively resolve any technical, scheduling, or commercial discrepancies.

Champion corporate safety standards by actively participating in safety programs and ensuring a secure operational approach to all project phases.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university (preferably in Engineering) is highly preferred.

Years of Experience: 5+ years of proven project management or engineering experience within the electric power industry, coupled with 5+ years of direct, customer-facing experience.

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in evaluating technical specifications, managing BOMs, and utilizing business software suites including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe Acrobat.

Industry Experience: Deep working knowledge of electrical and mechanical power generation systems, specifically diesel and gaseous engines, generator sets, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and paralleling switchgear. Familiarity with the Caterpillar product line is highly advantageous.
