Payroll Specialist

Process weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payroll accurately and timely for approximately 250+ employees Prepare and audit payroll coversheets for each pay cycle Maintain the Paycom payroll system Enter payroll corrections, benefit deductions, and garnishments Run and audit pre- and post-pay-cycle payroll reports Investigate and resolve payroll and benefits deduction discrepancies Audit and support 401(k) plan compliance, hardships, and loans Support benefits EDI feeds and reporting across carrier integrations with Paycom Process employment verifications Maintain paper and electronic employee personnel files Provide first-level payroll and timecard support to managers and employees Support onboarding and offboarding in Paycom alongside the HR Generalist Update employee pay and job titles in Paycom Set up new states in Paycom, including state and federal labor law posters/boards Maintain company forms and documents in Paycom Conduct the annual I-9 audit Support ACA reporting, including Forms 1094-C and 1095-C Lead W-2 preparation and year-end payroll processing Send performance reviews and follow-up reminders to staff Distribute policy updates and track employee completion Perform other duties assigned by the HR Manager or VP-Corporate Services Requirements Must live within 60 miles of headquarters in Tampa, FL Ability to organize, multitask, and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment Attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy Ability to maintain employee confidentiality and protect payroll operations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to deliver exceptional internal customer service Ability to build strong working relationships with all levels of the organization Working knowledge of Excel, including basic formulas, spreadsheets, and ad-hoc reports Ability to calculate manual checks, hours worked, overtime, and other payroll calculations Understanding and application of company policies regarding payroll, time and attendance, benefits administration, and paid time off Ability to research payroll and benefits administration issues and present findings to management Experience with payroll tax reconciliation and W-2/ACA year-end reporting Commitment to payroll best practices and regulations Associate degree required; bachelor degree preferred 3-4 years of payroll processing experience required Paycom experience a plus Progress toward CPP or FPP preferred Must be able to work immediately after catastrophic weather events, potentially relocating to a non-affected area Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in payroll processing, including compliance with regulations and best practices, while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
