Cash Management Operations Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Cash Management Operations Specialist to join our team in Fort Mill, SC. This contract-to-hire opportunity supports critical cash management functions involving the movement of cash and assets across retirement and non-retirement products. The ideal candidate will possess strong operational processing skills, experience working in a financial services environment, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients.

This role requires a combination of transaction processing, report review, client interaction, and problem-solving while maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance.

Cash Management Operations

• Process transactions that are Not In Good Order (NIGO) and resolve deficiencies in a timely manner.
• Process deposit, receipt, journal, and disbursement transactions for retirement and non-retirement accounts.
• Monitor and manage disbursement work queues to ensure transactions are completed accurately and within service level expectations.
• Support specialized processing, including death claims, divorce-related distributions, and tax operations activities.
• Review and process ACH transactions, wires, checks, and other cash movement requests.

Reconciliation & Reporting

• Review daily operational reports to reconcile general ledger activity and end-of-day balances.
• Analyze ACH rejection reports and process updates or corrections as needed.
• Identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Client & Team Support

• Communicate professionally with advisor offices, clients, and internal business partners regarding account transactions and inquiries.
• Provide exceptional customer service while handling transaction-related requests.
• Utilize strong phone communication skills to assist clients and resolve operational issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient processing and issue resolution.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay current on operational procedures, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and process improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Preferred majors include Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience

• 1–2 years of brokerage, banking, financial services, or related industry experience required.
• Experience within a financial institution is highly preferred.
• ACH processing experience required or strongly preferred.
• Wire processing experience preferred.
• Candidates with fraud operations, banking operations, cash management, transaction processing, or switchboard/customer service backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
• Prior experience handling high-volume phone interactions is preferred.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications

• Series 7 and/or Series 66 licenses preferred but not required.
