Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance Mechanic Primary responsibilities include: Machine Repair – diagnose trouble, repair, install, and set up machines; perform millwright work. Plumbing and Heating – repair and install various types of piping; replace thermocouples; light all gas burners; replace gas valves. Welding – arc, gas, submerged arc, brazing, and cutting operations. Hydraulics – repair, install, and diagnose trouble of hydraulic equipment. Carpentry and Painting – work from blueprints, sketches, or instructions to complete rough and finish carpentry; paint according to specifications. Pneumatic/Air Logic System maintenance. General building maintenance and inclement weather upkeep. Operate equipment such as lathes, saws, drill presses, and other maintenance tools. Fill propane gas tanks. Adjust and repair roller dies. Read and perform work from prints, sketches, and/or instructions. Grease and oil all equipment and machinery inside and outside the plant, excluding electric motors; replace bad grease fittings and wipe excess grease. Clean and replace all air filters on production machinery. Report all bad or worn equipment and any shortage of lubrication materials to supervisor. Maintain chemicals for die cooling water systems. Rebuild and repair bench‑work such as hand staplers, conveyor belts, soap agitators, and pillow blocks. Keep the oil storage room neat and clean at all times. Manage supervision’s awareness of defective equipment; keep work areas clean; return tools and parts to designated areas. Complete forms and reports as directed. Issue parts and supplies to company personnel. Maintain inventories and records of proper stock levels of all items used throughout the plant using a computer terminal; store items in designated tool crib areas. Fill out replacement or new order request forms using part numbers, parts manuals, or existing prints. Inventory all items received; check material; verify parts against open order file; update inventory both physically and electronically. Prepare motor parts/pieces for shipment according to established procedures. Pick up and deliver materials as required, following supervisor instructions; maintain necessary records of trips. Maintain supply of finished dies for distribution to using locations; wash, inspect, and sort used dies; determine next size die and machine to prescribed tolerances; discard scrap dies. Maintain accuracy of micrometers and mark sizes on dies; maintain records; notify supervisor of material or die flow shortages. Assist Company Machinist and Electricians when needed. Help train and/or direct the work of Machine Repairmen and Helpers temporarily assigned to the department for general labor details. Qualifications Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in all skills directly related to industrial manufacturing maintenance. Valid driver’s license. #J-18808-Ljbffr The ESAB Group Inc.
