Production Engineering Co-Op (January – June 2027) About the Role Johnson Controls is seeking a Mechanical/Industrial Engineering Co-op with a strong interest in cutting-edge thermal management and novel manufacturing technologies. This role offers a unique opportunity to experience all facets of the business – including design, customer interactions, and manufacturing. Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a willingness to "wear many hats" are essential for success in this position. What You Will Do Design CAD models for cutting-edge thermal management applications and run proprietary software programs to evaluate and qualify parts Use hardware to produce test parts and samples Test, collect, and analyze data to effectively communicate results Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to test new geometries and drive process improvements Perform testing on final parts and support the refinement of test methods Generate content for customer-facing application notes, including renderings and data summaries Required Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field Able to work on-site at least four days per week Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship Preferred Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills A strong sense of ownership- completing tasks efficiently and effectively Prior industry co-ops or internships strongly preferred Experience with OnShape or SOLIDWORKS, including modeling, drawings, and GD&T Familiarity with traditional manufacturing techniques, such as CNC and manual machining Coursework or hands-on experience writing in Python Why Join Us?
