Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – PRN Location: Tooele, UT 84074 – Coverage Area: Tooele County Position Type: PRN, Hourly; Salary Range: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour; Shift: Day; Schedule: Flexible Per‑Diem Are you an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who has a heart for patients and families? We are seeking compassionate CNAs to join our interdisciplinary team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing direct patient care and promoting comfort. Responsibilities Perform personal care such as bathing, oral hygiene, changing bed linens, and help with dressing and undressing patients. Assist with feeding and administer self‑administered medications as allowed by state regulations, including reminders. Provide positive communication and emotional support to patients and families, maintaining confidentiality and respectful care. Observe and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) when ordered, and report significant changes to the Case Manager. Take care of skin integrity, prevent breakdown over bony prominences, and provide normal range of motion and positioning as directed. Assist with ambulation, exercise, transfers, and light laundry when needed. Offer and assist with bedpan/urinal aid and other hygiene practices as assigned. Prepare and plan nutritious meals, including shopping, per schedule. Maintain a clean and orderly patient environment and adhere to organizational documentation and care standards. Participate in quality assessment, performance‑improvement teams, and other organizational activities. Provide respite care for families and caregivers when on‑site. Perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements Certified Nursing Assistant license in good standing (required in all states; California residents must also have a current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification). Minimum 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training. Preferred one (1) year of experience in community health, hospice, or medical/surgical environments. Licensed driver with a clean, insured vehicle that meets organizational and state requirements. Willingness to submit to a criminal background check prior to hire and annually thereafter. Current CPR certification. Ideal Candidate Skills and Knowledge Ability to read and follow written instructions. Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort with providing specialized care to terminally ill patients. Ability to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision. Demonstrated tact, patience, and good personal hygiene. Strong communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of care plan documentation. Flexibility in work hours to meet patient needs as outlined in care plans. Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and impaired. Comfortable addressing issues surrounding death and dying. Calm demeanor when entering patient homes.
