Our unique model enables us to deploy our resources to build over the long term.The Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting core accounting operations and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting across a complex, multi-entity organization. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong internal controls, supporting key components of the close process, and partnering cross-functionally to drive operational efficiency and financial clarity across the organization.Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the Accounting Associate supports significant general ledger activities, account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and close deliverables. The Associate will receive day-to-day training and guidance from the Accounting Manager, who will closely review the Associate's work, particularly as the Associate develops proficiency in the role. The role also supports audit readiness, process documentation, and the continued improvement of accounting processes and systems.Support day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and other assigned accounting areasSupport the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including coordination of assigned close activities, preparation of supporting schedules, and resolution of outstanding itemsReview and analyze balance-sheet and income-statement accounts, identifying period-over-period variances, unusual activity, reconciliation differences, and areas requiring investigation or corrective actionPrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for accuracy, completeness, appropriate classification, and adequate documentation, subject to review by the Accounting ManagerSupport intercompany and intracompany accounting, including charge-downs, due-to and due-from balances, settlements, and the timely resolution of differences across entitiesCoordinate with subsidiary finance teams to support consistent accounting, close timing, intercompany activity, and delivery of required financial informationEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies and procedures, escalating complex or judgmental matters as appropriateSupport internal controls to safeguard company assets and support audit readinessSupport external audits by preparing schedules, responding to information requests, resolving questions, and maintaining complete and audit-ready documentationCollaborate cross-functionally with Finance, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal and other teams to support business initiatives and improve financial processesSupport efforts to streamline and optimize accounting workflows, systems, and reporting accuracySupport the integrity of accounting master data, including general ledger accounts, departments, classes, entities, and financial reporting mappingsAssist with budgeting and forecasting processes as neededServe as a key resource for accounting guidance and problem-solving across the organizationManage assigned priorities and deadlines, incorporate review feedback, and communicate questions or issues promptly3-5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong foundation in general accounting and financial reporting, including experience within a complex, multi-entity organizationBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required; CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA certification preferredBig Four or other large public accounting firm experience is a plusSolid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial controls, general ledger accounting, intercompany activity, and account reconciliationsExperience supporting key components of the close process in a fast-paced environmentExperience supporting consolidated financial reporting and working with multiple legal entities or subsidiariesExperience supporting external audits and preparing complete, well-organized, and audit-ready documentationStrong analytical skills and attention to detailProactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to identify and support process improvementsExcellent organizational and communication skillsExperience working with accounting systems and ERP platforms, NetSuite and Concur preferredInspiring colleagues and an invigorating start-up environmentCompetitive base salary, bonus and incentive compensationCompany paid health insurance for employee, partner and dependentsLife insurance, short-term & long-term disability coverage401K plan with company matchPre-tax transit and parking program and flexible spending programs for medical and dependent careUnlimited PTO / Flexible time offPaid parental leaveNew water-front office with world-class perks and amenitiesWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
