A growing professional services organization is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to support core general ledger accounting functions and financial reporting activities. This role offers broad exposure to month-end close, fixed assets, audits, lease accounting, and financial data reporting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process journal entries to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including account analyses and reconciliations.
• Review and maintain office lease and sublease schedules across multiple office locations.
• Analyze and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Compile and prepare firm data for required financial surveys and reporting requests from U.S. and international government agencies.
• Support internal and external audit initiatives by preparing audit schedules, supporting documentation, and account analyses.
• Review fixed asset additions and disposals, ensuring proper accounting treatment and analysis of related gain or loss impacts.
• Partner with accounting and finance team members on special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc reporting requests.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of accounting experience with exposure to general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting month-end close activities.
• Working knowledge of fixed assets, accruals, and account analysis.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working within ERP/accounting systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within a professional services environment (law firm, consulting firm, accounting firm, engineering firm, architecture firm, or similar professional services organization).
• Exposure to lease accounting, audit support, and multi-office operations.
• Experience working with financial surveys, regulatory reporting, or government data requests.
