Desktop Support TechnicianImmediate need for a talented Desktop Support Technician. This is a 06+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Lafayette, IN (Onsite). Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).Key Responsibilities:Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, test, and image desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and other IT hardware.Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including Windows errors, Microsoft Outlook, network printers, and peripheral connectivity.Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities, including large-scale PC refreshes and printer migration projects.Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain hardware, software, and computer peripherals.Maintain IT asset inventory and perform hardware replacements, data backups, and end-user data transfers.Provide hands-on support for server and network infrastructure, including installations, configurations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Assist with server backups, recovery procedures, security maintenance, and network performance issues.Provide in-person technical support to end users, manage support tickets, and ensure timely issue resolution.Support multiple IT projects, document process improvements, and assist with escalations and enterprise IT operations.Key Requirements and Technology Experience:3–7 years of experience in desktop support, PC hardware repair, software troubleshooting, and end-user IT support.Strong hands-on knowledge of PC and laptop hardware components, including motherboards, hard drives, RAM, and CPUs.Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows operating systems, Microsoft Outlook, network printers, and computer peripherals.Experience with IMAC activities, hardware deployments, PC refreshes, printer migrations, and IT asset management.Strong understanding of server and network support within an enterprise environment; hands-on infrastructure support is a plus.Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide effective face-to-face technical support.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues.Dependability, punctuality, accountability, and consistent attendance during scheduled working hours.Our client is a leading IT Industry and we are currently interviewing to fill this and other similar contract positions.
