About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience. - Interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote monitoring required. - Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, and Sheath Removal experience required. - Experience with accessing ports, blood product administration, and central line management. - Ability to manage and titrate cardiac drips such as Diltiazem and Amiodarone. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly turn into a cancellation. Floating is required as needed; there is potential to float every shift. Patient ratios are typically 1:6-7. Contract staff will be assigned to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster. This unit monitors cardiac patients and provides care for conditions such as congestive heart failure and arrhythmias. The unit is equipped to handle special procedures including cardiac drips and sheath pulls. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to start in this specialty. Travel pairs are allowed, provided they are on different units. Candidates must be open to floating within/near the facility. All RTO must be pre-approved and must work 2 of 3 major holidays. No RTO is allowed during the first week. Completion of pre-start modules is required prior to beginning work. Modules are non-billable and separate from guaranteed hours.
