Maintenance Mechanic

Diesel Mechanic - Heavy-Duty Fleet ($25-35+ per hour)

We're looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team and keep our heavy-duty waste collection fleet running safely and efficiently. ?? What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy-duty waste collection trucks

• Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, fluid checks, brake work, and tire service

• Conduct detailed inspections to identify potential failures before they become costly repairs

• Document all work performed, parts used, and repair times using fleet maintenance software

• Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and company procedures

• Communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and fellow mechanics to keep the fleet operating smoothly

? What You Bring

• Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of diesel engines

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems

• Experience performing routine and advanced maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles

• Physical stamina to handle hands-on, physically demanding work

• Clear communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

• Comfort using fleet maintenance or repair-tracking software

?? Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Formal training in diesel mechanics or a related field

• 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or technician

• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, brake systems, and engine repair

• MACK truck experience is a strong plus

$25-$35+/hr , depending on experience and certifications

This is an in-shop role with core hours between 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM , plus occasional Saturday shifts. You'll work with modern diagnostic tools, heavy-duty equipment, and a team committed to keeping the fleet in top condition.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Uniontown, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
