Description Senior Real Estate Appraiser leads and completes complex commercial, industrial, multifamily, and specialty-type valuations, from scope definition through delivery of USPAP-compliant reports for mortgage underwriting, acquisition/disposition, portfolio analysis, financial reporting, estate, dispute resolution, and other intended uses. Senior appraisers receive an annual base $50,000 draw against commissions (adjusted in certain states where minimum wage requirements are higher). Commissions are paid based on completed services and may be cash or equity. In addition to draw and commissions, the position is eligible for competitive benefits and perks. Conduct comprehensive appraisals, including market and comparable research, and develop income, sales comparison, and cost approaches. Perform highest and best use analyses and present and defend conclusions to clients, lenders, and counsel. Manage assignments, ensure QA/QC and regulatory compliance, mentor junior staff and support proposals and business development. Make independent decisions and provide judgment in determining valuation of complex properties. Inspect properties and complete formal review responses with guidance from senior staff when requested. Engage directly in client meetings. Maintain knowledge of current regulations, zoning laws, and appraisal standards. Utilize required software applications and data sources. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills, Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree (preferably in real estate, economics, finance); preference for MS or MBA in real estate. State appropriate Certified General Appraiser license. Minimum 3-6 years of professional experience as a commercial real estate appraiser. Experience writing appraisals and appraisal reviews of complex commercial properties. Solid understanding of real property valuation concepts, commercial real estate terminology, property tax jurisdiction processes. Knowledge of Argus preferred. Strong analytical and writing skills. Strong communication skills with clients and market participants. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Working Conditions Normal working conditions with no disagreeable elements.
