Apex Placement & Consulting is looking for an experienced Territory Manager to lead and grow our Detroit market. This position is ideal for a staffing professional who understands how to balance client relationships, recruiting fulfillment and business development.

The Territory Manager will be responsible for the overall health and growth of their assigned territory. This includes strengthening existing client partnerships, ensuring staffing orders are filled successfully, identifying new business opportunities and supporting a positive experience for both clients and associates.

What Your Day Will Look Like

Account Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients throughout the Detroit market
• Build strong relationships with hiring managers and key client stakeholders
• Develop a clear understanding of each client’s workforce needs, expectations and business goals
• Conduct regular client check-ins and address service concerns quickly and professionally
• Monitor client satisfaction, associate performance and overall account health
• Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts
• Ensure client expectations, service agreements and staffing requirements are clearly communicated to the recruiting team

Recruiting and Fulfillment

• Partner closely with recruiters to develop sourcing and fulfillment strategies for open positions
• Establish priorities and maintain urgency around client orders
• Monitor recruiting activity, candidate pipelines, interviews, placements and starts
• Identify fulfillment challenges and adjust recruiting strategies as needed
• Ensure candidates are properly screened and prepared for client opportunities
• Support associate retention through regular communication and proactive problem-solving
• Maintain accurate documentation and activity within the applicant tracking system
• Ensure a positive experience throughout the candidate and associate lifecycle

Sales and Territory Growth

• Develop new business opportunities throughout the Detroit market
• Prospect and connect with potential clients through phone calls, email, networking and in-person outreach
• Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospective clients’ workforce challenges
• Prepare for and participate in client meetings, presentations and facility tours
• Identify opportunities to introduce additional staffing and workforce solutions
• Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective clients
• Collaborate with company leadership to establish and achieve territory growth goals
• Represent Apex professionally at community, networking and business-development events

What We’re Looking For

• A minimum of two years of experience in the staffing industry
• Demonstrated experience in account management, recruiting fulfillment and sales growth
• Strong understanding of the staffing lifecycle, from job intake and sourcing through placement and retention
• Proven ability to build and maintain successful client relationships
• Confidence developing new business and expanding existing accounts
• Ability to manage multiple client priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• A proactive approach with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
• Comfort working with recruiting metrics, pipelines and performance goals
• Experience using an applicant tracking system and other recruiting technology
• Ability to work onsite in Detroit and travel locally for client visits, networking and business-development activities
