Nature & Scope: Positional Overview

Our client is seeking a Software Engineer II to support the development, enhancement, and ongoing support of enterprise web and desktop applications. This role will serve as a hands-on technical contributor, working across C#.NET, VB.NET, Angular, TypeScript, SSIS, SQL, and Web APIs.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working across existing and new applications, troubleshooting production issues, developing technically sound solutions, and collaborating with technology and business teams throughout the development lifecycle. Candidates should have strong hands-on development skills and the ability to quickly learn additional tools and platforms as the environment evolves.

Role & Responsibilities: Tasks That Will Lead to Your Success

• Design, develop, enhance, and support web applications, desktop applications, and Web APIs using C#.NET.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications developed with VB.NET.
• Develop user interfaces and application components using Angular and TypeScript.
• Design, develop, and support SSIS packages and ETL processes.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and support database-driven application functionality.
• Participate in systems analysis, application design, development, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Evaluate application integrations and dependencies across programs, platforms, and interfacing systems.
• Prepare technical and functional specifications and maintain system documentation.
• Partner with development, operations, technology, and business teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support production applications and troubleshoot application issues.
• Follow development standards, source control, and CI/CD practices utilizing GitLab.
• Contribute to technology, process, and application improvements within the supported environment.

Required Experience

• Professional experience in systems analysis and application development, with the technical depth appropriate for a Software Engineer II.
• Hands-on C#.NET experience developing web applications, desktop applications, and/or Web APIs.
• Experience with VB.NET.
• Experience with Angular and TypeScript.
• Experience developing or supporting SSIS-based ETL processes.
• Strong SQL development and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with GitLab or similar source control and development workflow tools.
• Experience supporting applications and troubleshooting production issues.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
• Ability to manage development assignments independently while collaborating within a larger engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

The following technologies are preferred but are not required. Candidates who do not have experience with all of these tools should still be considered if they have a strong core .NET development background and the ability to learn quickly.

• Microsoft Azure or other cloud platform experience.

• Banking or financial services experience.
