Virology (HIV) Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) - New York Boroughs and Upstate New York - REMOTE

Merck seeks a Medical Scientific Director for HIV/Virology in New York to establish relationships with clinical leaders, conduct scientific discussions, and communicate stakeholder insights to research and development teams. The role requires an advanced degree in a relevant field and minimum three years of biotech/pharmaceutical and clinical experience.

Responsibilities

Identify, establish, and manage collaborative relationships with regional and clinical scientific leaders and investigators
Conduct peer-level scientific discussions and maintain reliable company presence for stakeholders
Engage in non-product scientific discussions regarding disease states, epidemiology, and unmet medical needs
Communicate external stakeholder insights and feedback to Medical Affairs leadership to inform strategies
Represent company at scientific meetings and contribute to research debriefs and post-congress reports

Requirements

Advanced degree (MD, PhD, DNP, Doctoral PA-C, DO, or PharmD) in Virology/HIV or related area
Minimum three years biotech/pharmaceutical or clinical environment experience
Minimum three years clinical and/or research experience in Virology/HIV or related infectious disease
Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills
Ability to travel up to 50% and reside in coverage region
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
