Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, demonstrating competence in care of patients with complex problems including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, synthesize data from complex situations to determine care priorities, and anticipate discharge needs for individual patients and families.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing and utilize healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care.
• Communicate relevant clinical information to promote continuity of care and consult appropriate resources for patients with complex care issues or high-risk discharge planning needs.
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives while promoting a safe, clean, and secure environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification through AHA or ARC.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practice and engagement with current nursing research applicable to ICU patient populations.
