Field Service Engineer

Salary: $69,000 - 109,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree plus at least 3 years of hands-on technical experience in electronic systems, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of advanced analytical equipment such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or comparable platforms.
• We require extensive experience diagnosing and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high-voltage systems, or similar technologies.
• We need strong customer-facing skills and the ability to work effectively with clients.
• We expect excellent interpersonal communication skills and professional working proficiency in English.
• We look for a consistent track record of repairing complex systems and subsystems down to component level.
• We require familiarity with MS-DOS and Windows environments.
• We need the ability to read and interpret schematics.
• We prefer candidates with knowledge of UHV principles and related technology.
• We require the ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as needed.
• We require a valid drivers license.
• We require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• We need candidates who can work in cleanroom and laboratory conditions, including exposure to fluctuating temperatures, loud machinery, strong odors, PPE requirements, hazardous materials, and work at heights.

• We perform on-site installation of sophisticated equipment and verify proper operation through testing procedures.
• We carry out scheduled preventive maintenance visits at customer locations.
• We diagnose and repair equipment issues for customers and support other field personnel.
• We build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, system users, and internal colleagues.
• We travel, sometimes on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support field service teams.
• We prepare and submit field service reports.
• We train customers and users on system maintenance.
• We provide feedback to product quality teams.
• We contribute written updates and corrections to system documentation.
• We help identify and isolate unresolved system issues in reports.
• We serve as a subject matter expert and training resource.
