Quality Manager

Responsibilities Formulates business strategies, plans and budgets for the department and monitors performance to ensure that plant goals are achieved. Promotes, maintains, and inspires a positive work environment of trust, respect, and support for all internal/external customers and staff by adhering to company policies and standards. Supports the Management Team in developing procedures and implementing the quality system. Ensures the quality system is consistent with established company goals and complies with ISO 9001, FSC, SFI, and GMP standards. Prepares, maintains, and reports on internal and external quality records and analyses. Analyzes quality records and recommends continuous process improvements to the Management Team. Schedules and assigns internal quality audits and maintains audit records. Designs and implements quality process training programs for the Management Team. Identifies non-conforming products or processes, investigates customer complaints, and assists in resolving issues. Ensures timely completion of reports, records, and other documentation. Informs all employees of quality system procedures and any changes. Maintains effective communication with customers, suppliers, and outside auditors in a professional manner. Monitors supplier requirements in alignment with ISO standards. Provides information to customer requests promptly in collaboration with Customer Service and Sales Teams. Reports concerns regarding departmental performance to the General Manager at the earliest opportunity. Ensures the entire team works towards common goals and objectives. Defines KPIs for the Quality Assurance Department and ensures timely follow-up and delivery of monthly reports to the General Manager. Supports team knowledge development, provides guidance, and encourages flexibility and coordination of work. Conducts periodic reviews of the Quality function’s processes, identifies issues, and defines solutions. Reviews processes regularly with the Management Team to ensure the department meets expectations. Oversees cross‑training among team members. Strives for best‑in‑class Quality performance and sets industry standards, adapting new ideas and concepts from other industries. Keeps up to date on new developments and fosters learning and development among the team. Visits work areas frequently to ensure compliance and discusses safety issues; emphasizes safety excellence and incident reporting. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, industrial packaging, or a related field (manufacturing industry). +10 years of experience in TQM, ISO, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Process Improvement. Thorough knowledge of ANSI, ISO, SFI, FSC, GMP and related Quality Management Systems. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of representing the company at all levels. High energy and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate and develop senior and junior staff. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel. Self‑motivated, committed, and possessing a strong work ethic. Excellent analytical skills, methodical approach, and commercial acumen. Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw reasonable conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions, manuals, and procedures. Capable of working independently and as part of a team. Recognizes non‑conformity, analyzes issues, and recommends improvements. Collaborates across departments (sales, operations, finance) to resolve challenges. Drives continuous process improvement and fosters good working relationships. Delegates effectively to direct reports and manages day‑to‑day issues within the team. Builds strong internal and external relationships, especially with key customers.
