The Dispatcher/Customer Service Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within a small dispatch team. This position is responsible for managing scheduling, supporting customers, and coordinating order management and routing using proprietary dispatch software and standard office tools. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail are essential to effectively handle customer inquiries and ensure timely delivery.

 

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate dispatch activities within a small team
• Provide responsive customer support and resolve issues promptly
• Manage orders and ensure accurate routing for deliveries
• Maintain clear and effective communication via phone and email
• Accurately enter and update data using dispatch and office software
• Collaborate closely with team members to optimize workflow
• Utilize map reading skills to assist in routing and dispatch decisions
• Work with drivers to ensure proper routing and safe delivery of freight

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in dispatching or customer service
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Effective time management and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in data entry and multitasking
• Experience with scheduling and attention to detail
• Map reading capabilities
