Role Overview: 

The MES Application Integration Engineer III is a DevOps-focused role that bridges IT and manufacturing operations to design, develop, implement, and maintain MES solutions that support safe, efficient, and stable production. The role implements and optimizes MES software and integrations, installs and maintains production IT hardware and software, analyzes logs and performance, troubleshoots root causes, documents systems and procedures, and coordinates closely with production and cross-functional IT teams to minimize downtime, improve quality, and support ongoing model and process changes. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design, develop, modify, and deploy C#, ASP.NET, and WinForms applications for primary and secondary MES systems. 

• Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects across SQL Server and Oracle environments. 

• Debug code, analyze logs, and perform root cause analysis to resolve system issues. 

• Work with MES Technicians, MES Engineers, and cross-functional teams (network, database, server, storage, security, ERP, PLC) to perform thorough root cause analysis. 

• Develop and maintain PLC interfaces for data exchange between MES and automation equipment. 

• Build and enhance dashboards using SCADA and related visualization tools. 

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for MES applications, MES workstations, and production-critical IT systems. 

• Support process engineering, quality engineering, PLC teams, and production operations in the use of MES, QMS, SCADA and other HAEA-controlled manufacturing systems. 

• Maintain serial number traceability and support data transmission through EAI. 

• Integrate MES solutions with other production systems to promote data integrity, automation, and streamlined processes. 

• Engineer MES solutions to maintain uptime and stability to ensure production does not stop, and vehicle quality is maintained. 

• Export specialized data sets and perform manual database updates when necessary. 

• Serve as Subject Matter Expert and escalation point for MES Technicians. 

• Meet with CBU clients to review production processes and advise on IT solutions. 

• Install, configure, and maintain MES-related hardware and software, including servers, VMs, workstations, scanners, printers, mobile devices, and backup systems as needed. 

• Monitor system health using tools such as SNMP, What’sUp Gold, Nagios, Sherpa, MaxGauge, Zabbix, vRealize, VNC, and NQVM. 

• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to deploy server patches, EDR, and other security updates as needed. 

• Submit firewall requests and participate in firewall and application access audits. 

• Install, test, and enhance hardware and software components, proposing improvements as needed. 

• Follow established change management processes for deploying system modifications. 

• Conduct feasibility studies, proofs of concept, peer reviews, and functional testing prior to release. 

• Prepare approval documentation for system changes, purchases, and capital/funding requests. 

• Analyze incidents, review logs, and generate System Incident Reports for production-impacting events. 

• Participate in project, production, and team meetings, providing status updates, and escalating issues appropriately. 

• Use SharePoint Lists, Asana, Jira, and similar tools for task and project management. 

• Coordinate with vendors and purchasing to obtain quotes and document procurement requests. 

• Work independently on daily tasks, projects, and long-term assignments. 

• Escalate issues to management and departmental leads when appropriate. 

• Provide on-call and periodic weekend support. 

• Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard productivity tools. 

• Maintain strong knowledge of MES concepts and manufacturing operations. 

• This role requires full-time onsite support with remote emergency support. 

   

Basic Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 

• 9+ years C#, ASP.NET, and WinForms development experience. 

• 9+ years of SQL experience. 

• Using IIS, Windows Server, SQL, Visual Studio, TFS, GIT 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills 

• Scope: No direct supervisory responsibility; works on problems of diverse scope using sound judgment. 

• Tools/Equipment: Standard IT support tools, computers, hand tools, PPE. 

• Travel: No travel is required. 

• Ability to move throughout production areas and access equipment (bending/kneeling as needed). 

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs occasionally. 

• Ability to work in typical plant environments (noise, temperature variation, PPE required). 

• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications 

• 3+ years MES or manufacturing experience preferred. 

• Experience with SCADA and PLC Solutions 

• Experience with PL-SQL and advanced Oracle knowledge 

• Mobile device development experience with Android  

• Proficient checking and configuring operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux. 

• Experience working with virtual machines running in VMware or Open Stack.  

Salary range: $79,000 - $112,959
